How do you set up color management so that Photoshop controls the color information, not the the printer

Skin Tone question:
Simple Rule:
90% of all you need to know is that you can never let the yellow % fall below magenta % on anyone's skin unless you're trying to show sunburn.
Turns out Smugmug's website has a really good tutorial on how to set skin tones in Photoshop.

In Camera Raw we also used the "Targeted Selection Tool" to tweak hue, saturation, and luminance directly on the skin of our subject. Much easier than trying to "guess" what colors to tweak.
Objectives
Differentiate between bitmap and vector graphics. Draw straight and curved paths using the Pen tool. Stroke a path. Convert a path to a selection. Convert a selection to a path. Save paths.
Make a Mask and refine the edges to allow detail in the background
Place the masked object on a new background.
